The mugs have sprung out of my thirst for yet more ‘glaze knowledge’ which informs my ceramic glaze paintings.

The challenge… to make them dishwasher proof and food safe as well as represent our special Cumbrian landscapes.

They are hand-built, each piece is completely unique, with its own story and marks of making.

They are chunky tactile and hard wearing… much like our Cumbrian fells!

All Art Mugs are sold in batches via my Pop up Instagram Shop or Open Studio Days.

The next batch will be available Feb’26, keep an eye on Instagram @sallytomsart
